Dr. Charles Okaga of NPA Receives FiBOP Award for Service Excellence.

The Finance and Business Online Publishers (FiBOP) has bestowed on Dr. Charles Okaga, General Manager, Operations Nigerian Ports Authority, its honour for his exceptional service contributions to improved port operations and business excellence.

Armed with stellar academic background ranging from a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geography and Regional Planning from the University of Calabar, Bachelor of Law (LLB), Master of Science in Transportation Planning, and an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Leadership and Corporate Governance from the European-American University, Panama, Dr Charles Okaga imprint in Port Operations and administration speaks aplenty.

His exploits so far stemmed from several job trainings, bolstering his expertise in the port industry.
Dr Okaga’s distinguished career within the Nigerian Ports Authority includes serving as the 27th Port Manager of Apapa and holding strategic positions such as Technical Assistant to the Managing Director and PA to the Executive Director Marine and Operations.

Dr. Okaga’s wide ranging experience revolved round serving on key committees, including the Presidential Standing Committee on Private Jetties, Head of the NPA Stevedoring Desk, and Member of the Project Delivery Team for Ibom Deep Sea Port. He also chaired the Project Delivery Team, Port Electronic call-up System and served as Ag. Chairman, 25 years Port master Plan.

Dr. Okaga’s notable leadership as Chairman Project Implementation Committee on Traffic Management and Electronic Call-Up System significantly contributed to restoring order to the notorious traffic gridlock along Port access roads. Collaborating with the Lagos State Government, Police, and stakeholders, he successfully cleared the roads, making Apapa one of the most accessible locations in Lagos.
