Obiama Uboma Foundation set to launch Uboma Strategic Development Plan at 2024 Annual Home Coming. – By Godson Ikoro
The 2024 Annual Home Coming of Obiama Uboma Foundation (OUF) is set to launch its 10 -year Strategic Development Plan (USDP) among other initiatives.
The event which comes up on Sunday December 29, 2024 at Mbarara Erueru Ihitte- Uboma Local Government Area,IMO State is a convocation of Uboma Citizens from various walks of life who gather to tinker and direct development initiatives.
Speaking on the agenda of this year’s home coming, the President and visioner of the Foundation, Chief Charles Okafor said that the launch of the USDP is one of the high points of the event; emphasizing that
the plan has developed vision, core values, strategies and metrics for the development of Uboma.
According to him,the plan has identified and prioritized economic, social and cultural programs, projects, initiatives and activities that will forster sustainable development and empower the people.
The Uboma Strategic Development Plan was produced by a team of 14 “wisemen”drawn from our respective autonomous communities after five good months of online meeting every Sunday.
He argued that if all the eminent citizens of Uboma come out and work with OUF network ,the foundation has the capacity to attract and actualize a general hospital in Uboma while every autonomous community can have an effective healthcare centre by 2030 aside from other infrastructural facilities.
Fielding more questions from Revolnews.com.ng , Chief Charles Okafor said that the “Home Coming is our own Annual General Meeting, (AGM)where members gather to review our activities during the out going year and set agenda for the coming year.
Specifically,he said at home coming this year, “we will review our journey of the foundation so far, take stock of various committees – know how well they have fared; present its constitution and launch our Strategic Development Plan”.
The event will be graced by all Royal Fathers, Ndomi Uboma( Home and Diaspora), all youths from all autonomous communities, the Members of Uboma Elders at the Gate – the spiritual arm- of the Foundation , Uboma friends and well wishers.
Further more ,he said that all the organs and committees of OUF are being strengthened and a concatenation of their activities will bolster its stride as strategic influence centre where ndi – Uboma can leverage on information to solve their problems.
With the renewed resolve and vigour of our committees to up their games, Okafor said the future of OUF hinges on what the Uboma Citizens make of it.
The Foundation is intended to bring together the best brains, to deploy their influence and resources to pursue the selfless development of Uboma to be so advanced as to make it a reference point in the comity of towns and neighbors beyond IMO State.
Okafor believed that through sponsorship of government agencies, multilateral and multinational institutions which have corporate social responsibility budgets that run into billions of Naira and these bodies give grants and sponsor CSR projects.
He emphasized that Uboma has sons that are well heeled in some of these corporate bodies to help attract such projects. Aside that , he said that it is the role of various committees, and their members to identify such opportunities in these corporate groups and draw them down to common people in Uboma.
He averred that the launching and implementation of the ten years strategic development plan will bless Uboma transgenerationally.
What ever may have happened so far , he said that OUF have sufficient grounds to give ourselves a pat on the back. It is on record that there are sons and daughters of Uboma who have got new jobs, gained admission into tertiary institutions and strategically repositioned in businesses and careers, courtesy of OUF network.
He called on all leaders of Uboma wherever they may be to key into the vision and partner with the Foundation to see the big picture of a developed future of Uboma Clan.
