Professor Regina Onwuchekwa Set to Deliver 201st Inaugural Lecture of University of Port Harcourt.

Professor Regina Chinwe Onwuchekwa will deliver the 201st Inaugural Lecture of the University of Port Harcourt on Thursday, August 21, 2025 by 3pm at the CBN Centre of Excellence Building , University Park, Abuja Campus .

The erudite scholar will be speaking on the theme: Unraveling the mystery of Grey Shadows: Pains of the Head and Low Back.

Already, arrangements are in top gear to ensure a large turn out and make the Inaugural Lecture  a huge success.

In the invitation of card sent to dignitaries and the University community, Obinkita Progressive Union, Port Harcourt Branch urged the invitees to celebrate their own  daughter and contribution to the Ivory Tower. 

Also in Prof. Onwuchekwa has invited people from all walks of life, including her Akokwa kinsfolk, to attend her inaugural lecture and benefit from her rich medical knowledge and background.

Expectedly, this renowned Professor of Radiology,Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Health sciences, University of Port Harcourt, will teach the audience how to trace the 

 causes of headache and low back pain from a variety of causes, including injuries, poor posture, and underlying medical conditions.

With over 30 years of experience in medical practice and 24 years of experience as an expert in Radiology and university lecturer, she will demonstrate how poor posture like

slouching or improper alignment while sitting or standing can put extra stress on the spine and joints, leading to pain in the head and low back.

 Additionally, she will show how injuries from accidents or sports can result in pain in both areas. 

Accidents (car accidents, falls), and sports injuries can cause immediate or delayed pain in the head and back.

These injuries can affect muscles, ligaments, or even the spine itself.

Her research expertise lies in Radiology, with a focus on understanding complex medical issues such as headaches and backaches

 She rose to the rank of Professor of Radiology in October 2018 and has made significant contributions to the field of Radiology.

She is also credited with notable achievements like creation citation. with an H-Index of7 and i-10 Index of 7.

 According to AD Scientific Index, she is ranked 841 in the University of Port Harcourt, 52,929 in Nigeria, and 2,602,713 in the world.

 Her research interests are in Radiology, with a focus on improving medical knowledge and practice.
