Dr. Ejike Ndiulo Transitions to Academia, Celebrated by Corporate and Media Leaders
Corporate leaders across West Africa, media veterans, and communications professionals have congratulated Dr. Ejike Ndiulo on his appointment to the faculty of Covenant University, Ota.
The move is being hailed as a major boost for academia, bringing one of Nigeria’s most respected marketing and corporate communications strategists into the classroom of one of Africa’s leading private universities.
Dr. Ndiulo, a C-Suite executive with over 20 years’ experience, recently earned a PhD in Strategic Marketing Management from Babcock University. For colleagues, his transition to teaching represents the peak of a career spent redefining how organizations treat public relations.
A consistent advocate for elevating PR, Dr. Ndiulo has long argued that communication leaders must sit at the boardroom table, not be brought in after decisions are made.
As Chief Thinker at Henryjvaleens Limited, a top PR and corporate consulting firm, he advised major clients on brand equity, cost optimization, and market penetration. Prior to that, he was Head of Corporate Communications at Air Peace Limited, where he led brand campaigns and managed investor relations.
He also spent a decade at Fidelity Bank Plc as Head of Corporate Communications, overseeing a multi-billion-naira marketing portfolio.
“Ejike has spent years fighting the idea that PR is just crisis cleanup,” said a close colleague. “He proved that real resilience comes when communication is part of strategy from the start.”
Dr. Ndiulo’s foundation was built in journalism and business development. He worked as an award-winning Senior Financial Correspondent with ThisDay Newspapers, Business Development Representative for BBC World Service, and Special Projects Manager at the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce.
A past winner of the Insurance Reporter of the Year and NMMA runner-up for Financial Reporter of the Year, he remains active in the NUJ, NIPR, APCON, and NIMN.
At Covenant University, he is expected to blend academic research with real-world executive experience to train the next generation of business leaders in strategic marketing and reputation management.
“Covenant is gaining a powerhouse,” said a senior media executive. “It’s rare to find someone with both a PhD and boardroom experience. We look forward to his impact on students.”
